Hal Barton, a famous and much loved painter of the Australian bush


Purchasers of original paintings own just the canvas and paint on it. They do not own the right to make copies of it. The right to sell copies of all work produced, even when a painting is sold, stays with the artist for life and remains with the heirs of the artist for 70 years after that. Born in Adelaide in 1927, his passion for immortalising the land began when as a small child he wandered his beloved Adelaide Hills, sketchbook in hand. He gained his early training at the 'South Australian School of Arts and Crafts' and he had the advantage of being tutored by returning official war artists.
